It’s not just any house. We bought a 1906 Colonial Revival on four, beautiful acres! There aren’t words in the dictionary to adequately express the joy we are feeling right now. Finding it was a fluke. It wasn’t planned, but God knew what we wanted and needed and it all fell into place. We didn’t even make it through the first walk-through of the house before I knew we would be making an offer on it. It’s old, cozy, and just enough quirky to keep it interesting and still feel like a one hundred and fifteen year old home.
From the moment our offer was accepted, it has been a whirlwind. We hadn’t planned on putting our house on the market for at least another year, but probably two so the list of things we needed to complete was pretty long. The night before we listed our previous house we had a group painting party that no one wanted to be invited to, but they all came anyway. That night Michael and I stayed up until two in the morning finishing floors, paint, etc. It was all worth it though. I couldn’t be happier with the family that bought our house and since I know them, I will be able to come back and visit from time to time.
Our new house is perfectly fine as is, but man, I’m itching to make it ours! It, for sure, needs to be Amberifed, and I can’t wait to show you all what I have planned! I’m excited to say I’m starting a YouTube channel to bring you along for all the room makeovers, diy’s, shopping, building, planting, growing, etc. We have big plans for the future of Polk Acres!
I have “filmed” an empty house walk-through that I’m in the middle of editing (I can’t wait to understand editing so it doesn’t take as long in the future), so keep an eye out for that soon! Click Here to find my Youtube channel and subscribe so you don’t miss anything.
