Whole House Mood Board

When we bought the house I new the vast majority of our items wouldn’t look quite right in a 115 year old farmhouse. I love most of my furnishings, but they were bought for a 1974 contemporary house in the middle of a small city. But, like most people in my world, I don’t have the option of purchasing a houseful of new things at once. But, I also decided I didn’t want to buy a little for the living room, then a little for the upstairs bathroom, then something else for another area in the house. No, I want to concentrate on one area at a time.

I’ve decided to start in our master bedroom and get that at least 90% the way we want it before starting on another room. Now, I say 90% because I don’t want to just fill the space; I want the right items to go in there and if that takes time to find it, I’ll wait. I don’t want to buy stuff I don’t want just to have a placeholder. It’s a waste of money and I don’t know about ya’ll, but I work hard for every dollar I have.

I want the entire house to feel the same. Not the same colors, but the same mood and feel. I know it is ever evolving, but man, ole, man, I love the feel of this. Half the photos are from Pinterest, some are from Instagram, and some are direct from the supplier. I will try to remember where I found everything, but if there is a source you want, email me or DM me on Instagram and I’ll try to get that to you.

I have already made a moodboard (which I like to call a focus board) for the master bedroom that goes into all the details of what I’ll actually purchase. Having this main board really helped when I got debated on what to do.

Let me know what you think and if you have any questions.

XO,

Amber
